I have always loved listening to someone play the piano.   I remember when I was  younger thinking it would be great if I could learn to play too.  Well many years went by, once I was in my forties I figured if I haven't learned to play the piano by now then I'm probable to old to learn.  I found my attitude difficult to except, especially since my partner owns an electric keyboard.   He likes to tinker on the keyboard, though he has the knack of replicating songs he likes which I was envious of.  At the age of forty-three I gave my dream one last try.   Money was very tight and I new it would be difficult to afford piano lessons.   I spoke with my Spiritual Family, expressing with deep emotion my desire to learn to play the piano.  Well you know how the saying goes, "Be careful about what you ask for, you just might get it."  I guess it was about three days later and I saw an ad on T.V. a local music store was offering free piano lessons.  Well talk about a kick in the pants, I knew this was the opportunity I had asked for.  I also knew that if I didn't act on the opportunity, my Spiritual Family might take the attitude don't ask for things you're not serious about.   I made up my mind, I was going to give it a shot.  It felt great sitting behind the keyboard, I was now the one playing if you want to call it that.  The first year and half was very difficult, I was learning though not really playing and I wound up stopping my lessons because I moved to Hawai'i for about seven months.  I made an agreement with myself, I was learning to play and I must remain dedicated.  I did continue to practice and when I returned home I was able to continue with my lessons for a few more months until again I had to go back to Hawai'i for about a year and half.  When I returned home my instructor stopped giving lessons.  Again I continued.  I am pleased to say five years have gone by and I now can say I play the piano.  

Playing the piano has been far more important to me than I ever thought it would be.  It has truly helped me grow spiritually and it has opened a very creative side too.    Today, I am very pleased that my life is filled with things I love and love to do.  Many ideas that have gone through my mind over the years, I now take seriously and I've now started exploring them too.

If there is something that you always wanted to do, then by all means do it before you can't.  You may be surprised to see what other doorways open for you.
